The HPE ProLiant ML350 G5 server is designed with reliability, expandability, performance and environmental features that continue to make it one of the most flexible tower servers in the world. The best word to describe the ML350 server is 'dual'. HP ProLiant ML350 G5 Server User Manual. System leds and internal health led combinations. HP Computer hardware. Hello guys im new on installing OS in HP Proliant ML350 G5 can any one help me how to install the OS thanks in advance.
OverviewThe HP ProLiant ML350 G5 requires memory interleaving when more than one DIMM is installed. For interleaving, DIMMs must beconfigured in identical pairs. NOTE: The system will not boot properly if multiple DIMMs of varying density or type are installed in thesystem. The server supports the following Advanced Memory Protection (AMP) options to optimize serveravailability.
Maximum memory capacities for all AMP modes will increase with the availability of 4 GB and 8 GBFBDIMMs, including a maximum of 64 GB in Advanced ECC mode. The Advanced Memory Protection option is configured in RBSU. By default, the server is set to AdvancedECC mode. Click here for more information on RBSU.Or refer to the HP ROM-Based Setup Utility User Guide on the DocumentationCD. NOTE: If the configured AMP mode is notsupported by the installed FBDIMM configuration, the system boots in Advanced ECC mode. The following configuration requirements apply to all AMP modes:
Standard Memory
Common Memory ConfigurationValid DIMM pair combinations use slots 1/5(Bank A), slots 2/6(Bank B), slots 3/7(Bank C), and slots 4/8(Bank D). Maximum supported memory is 16 GB. Figure 1: Common Memory Configuration 1 - Slot 1, Bank A 2 - Slot 2, Bank B 3 - Slot 3, Bank C 4 - Slot 4, Bank D 5 - Slot 5, Bank A 6 - Slot 6, Bank B 7 - Slot 7, Bank C 8 - Slot 8, Bank D 9 - Standard 512 MB DIMM
NOTE: This chart does not represent all possible memory configurations. For example, 512 MB modules illustrated here for Standard and Optional configuration, can also be put in Bank B(Slot 2 and 7), Bank C(Slot 3 and 7), or Bank D(Slot 4 and 8) Advanced ECC memoryAdvanced ECC memory is the default memory protection mode for this server. In Advanced ECC, theserver is protected against correctable memory errors. The server provides notification if the level ofcorrectable errors exceeds a pre-defined threshold rate. The server does not fail because of correctablememory errors. Advanced ECC provides additional protection over Standard ECC because it is possibleto correct certain memory errors that would otherwise be uncorrectable and result in a server failure. Whereas standard ECC can correct single-bit memory errors, Advanced ECC can correct single-bitmemory errors and multi-bit memory errors if all failed bits are on the same DRAM device on theFBDIMM. In addition to general configuration requirements, Advanced ECC memory also has the followingconfiguration requirements:
In Advanced ECC mode, FBDIMMs must be populated as specified in the following table, unless a singleDIMM is used:
Online spare memory configurationOnline spare memory provides protection against degrading FBDIMMs by reducing the likelihood ofuncorrectable memory errors. FBDIMMs can either be single-rank or dual-rank. Certain FBDIMM configuration requirements are based on these classifications. Adual-rank FBDIMM is similar to having two separate FBDIMMs, or ranks, on the same module. Although only a single FBDIMMmodule, a dual-rank FBDIMM acts as two separate FBDIMMs. If the current DRAM technology allows for 2 GB single-rankFBDIMMs, a dual-rank FBDIMM using the same technology would be 4 GB. In online spare mode, a single rank of memory acts as the spare memory. For single-rank FBDIMMs, the entire FBDIMM acts as thespare memory. For a dual-rank FBDIMM, only half of the FBDIMM acts as the spare memory while the other half is available foroperating system and application usage. If one of the non-spare FBDIMMs receives correctable memory errors at a higher rate than a specificthreshold, the server automatically copies the memory contents of the degraded rank to the online sparerank. The server then deactivates the failing rank and automatically switches over to the online spare.Because FBDIMMs that experience a high rate of correctable memory errors have a higher probability ofreceiving an uncorrectable memory error, this effectively reduces the likelihood of uncorrectable memoryerrors that would result in server downtime. Online spare FBDIMM configuration requirements (in addition to general configuration requirements):
In online spare mode, FBDIMMs must be populated as specified in the following table:
