Aug 10, 2013  got a 32 gb 2nd Gen Nexus 7 from Staples, got home, plugged it in, didn't power on. Tried to reboot it, no go, had to go back to staples. They were all out of the 32gb (I got the last one), so I exchanged for a 16 gb and a refund of the price difference. Features Software. Nexus 7 was the first device to have been shipped with Android 4.3 'Jelly Bean'.All Nexus devices, including the Nexus 7, run a version of Android free of manufacturer or wireless carrier modifications (e.g., custom graphical user interfaces or 'skins' such as TouchWiz and HTC Sense) commonly included on other Android devices. Mine just fell 2m and smashed the screen. Don't judge! I am sorely tempted to replace the screen, as it is a straightforward job and this excellent tool was otherwise still rocking after more than five years. The USB port had stopped working in 2019 and I couldn't find the fault, but luckily it has wireless charging, so on we marched. When the port stopped I panicked and checked the Kindle Fire 7. Despite its age, the N7 remains the better machine.

A gem device which can be used for working on the cloud given with such a great resolution and still up to standard until this year.

Super and the only tablet (wi-fi version) for Ubuntu Touch. Given the age of the device, it's a very good piece of technology. Definitely worth the price (especially after so many years since the premiere).

Wow. After 4 years, I'm still using and liking my Asus Nexus 7 (2013). It self-upgraded to Android Marshmallow 6. I also own a newer Samsung Tab 10' and 7' - But Nexus has a sharper image, better sound, and it seemes to run a little faster than my Samsung.

Same here - 5 years without problems. Screen is still outstanding - pixel density equal to iPhone 6. Small enough to hold in one hand or slip in a jacket pocket.

5 years and this device is still working like a champ. Baterry life is still decent. I have not even rooted or anything, it is running on MM 6.0.
Only complains are:
Touch input fails sometimes
The microusb port doesn't work as intended. I can't charge the device when is on or connect it to a PC. From what I've read it is an issue in the port that needs to be replaced.
Overall I think this is one of the most durable hardware ever

Posting this in 2018 and have to say that this is one of the (if not THE) best tablets i've seen, sure it has it's flaws but only if you're a nitpicker. Installed Lineage OS 14.1 (Nougat 7.1.2) & enjoying a nice piece of hardware. Thanks ASUS!!
